Meeting Information
The Overmountain Weaver's Guild meets at Exchange Place on the third Wednesday of every month. The meetings start at 10 AM. We also meet at Exchange Place on the first Saturday of each month. This meeting is called "Boot Camp". "Boot Camp" begins at 10:00 AM and usually runs until about 2:00 PM. "Boot Camp" gives OMWG members opportunities to work on problems they may be having and getting help from other members in an informal venue. It is also a chance to discuss subjects relating to fibre arts and of mutual interests to members. Exchange Place This is a National Historic Registry restored farm and community from 1826 to 1850. Buildings are either the actual farm buildings, period buildings from local sites or period recreations. The farm has ongoing activities and maintains a small number of farm animals for educational purposes. There are spring and fall festivals with exhibits and demonstrations of farm activities and crafts. Tours are available most weekends throughout the year and for groups by appointment.
